This Content and IP Policy explains how characters are created, recorded, protected and enforced on Neyra. It forms part of our Terms of Use. By creating, protecting, listing or entering a character, you agree to it.
The short version
- 01
You own it
Your character stays yours. Neyra takes only a limited licence to host, display and promote it.
- 02
We never train on it
Your sketches, text and outputs are never used to train AI — by us or our model providers.
- 03
Evidence, not a guarantee
We timestamp, hash and record how your character was made. We do not guarantee copyright.
- 04
Be original
Only your own work. No copied characters, brands, real people without consent, or minors.
- 05
We enforce
Copied or unlawful work can be frozen, removed, and repeat infringers banned.
1. What is IP — in plain words
Intellectual property (IP) is the legal right to control something you created with your mind. For characters, the main rights are:
- Copyright — protects your own expression: your drawing, your written text, your hand edits, your creative selection and arrangement. Not ideas, and not AI-generated material on its own.
- Trademark — protects a character name or logo used in trade, once registered or established.
- Contract — the licence a buyer signs binds them, whether or not copyright exists.
- Provenance — a verified record of who made what, and when. It is evidence, not a right in itself.
2. Why human origin matters
In Singapore, the United States and most major jurisdictions, copyright requires a human author. A character generated from prompts alone — however detailed — is generally not protected. That is why Neyra starts every protected character with your own sketch and your own words, keeps them visible through AI development, and records evidence at every step.
Evidence strength
- Strong: your freehand sketch or own artwork visibly preserved; human-written bible; manual edits.
- Moderate: creative selection and arrangement; substantial rewriting of AI text.
- Weak: preset menu choices. Recorded, not relied on.
- None: prompts; AI text accepted unchanged. Recorded for disclosure only.
3. The Neyra depository — what it is and is not
Neyra Labs Pte. Ltd. operates a creator depository in Singapore. When you protect a creation we record a SHA-256 hash, a timestamp, your verified identity and a Neyra IP ID, and issue a QR-verifiable IP Passport.
Important
Singapore has no copyright registration system — copyright arises automatically when an original work is created by a human author. A Neyra record is evidence of authorship and creation date. It is not a government registration, not a certificate of copyright, and not a blockchain registration. Neyra never says your work is “copyrighted” or “registered” unless an official registration has actually been issued and its number recorded.
Passport tiers
- Human-Origin Registered — Human-Origin requirements plus an issued official registration (e.g. a US certificate).
- Human-Origin — strong origin artefact, human-written name, backstory and personality, signed Declaration, no open disputes.
- AI-Assisted — anything below Human-Origin. Contractual licence only; no copyright representation.
4. Your journey, step by step
Each step creates a record. Together they form the evidence chain behind your character.
- 01
Sign up and verify
You confirm you are 18+, give your legal name and country. Your legal name stays private; a display name is public. Full ID checks happen before any prize, payout or registration pack.
- 02
Accept the terms
You actively tick to accept these terms. We store the version, time and device. Material changes need your fresh acceptance.
- 03
Draw or upload your own artwork
Your origin sketch is saved, hashed (SHA-256) and timestamped before any AI touches it. This is your strongest evidence of human authorship.
- 04
Write your character bible
Name, backstory, personality, voice, world. Each field is marked as written by you, AI-suggested, or AI-suggested and edited by you.
- 05
Press “Protect my creation”
You sign the Creator Declaration. The origin set is sealed and you receive a Neyra IP ID and a downloadable receipt.
- 06
Develop with AI
Every AI output is linked back to your origin in a derivation tree, with the model and version recorded. AI-only material is disclosed as such.
- 07
Edit by hand
Your manual paint-overs and rewrites are recorded separately from AI edits. AI inpainting counts as AI.
- 08
Finalise your master
You select and arrange the final character sheet. It is versioned, hashed and carries content credentials.
- 09
Receive your IP Passport
A verifiable record with a QR code and link showing what you made and what AI made, plus your tier.
- 10
Register (optional)
Where a registry exists, we can prepare information for you to file yourself. Neyra never files on your behalf.
- 11
Enter the competition
Separate Official Rules apply, including first-look and IP management terms for winners, shown in full before entry.
- 12
List and license
Buyers license your character under standard terms, building a clean chain of title.
- 13
Disputes and takedowns
Anyone can file a notice. Listings are frozen and proceeds held while a case is open.
5. Who owns what
- You own your character — the origin artefact, character bible and your edits, to the extent rights exist in them. Neyra claims no ownership of your content or outputs.
- Neyra owns the platform — software, models, agents, templates, workflows and the IP Passport format. Nothing here transfers platform IP to you.
6. The licence you give Neyra
You grant Neyra a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, display, reproduce and promote your character only to operate and market the platform and marketplace. It may be sublicensed only to service providers doing those jobs. It ends when you remove the character, except for backups, records required by law, and marketing already published.
No AI training
Neyra will never use your content or outputs to train AI models, and requires the same, in writing, of every model provider we use.
7. Moral rights
Under Singapore's Copyright Act 2021 you have the right to be identified as the author and not to be falsely attributed. You consent to Neyra and its tools adapting, resizing and displaying your work as these terms describe. Where local law (for example in Indonesia) does not allow moral rights to be waived, this is a consent to modification, not a waiver.
8. Your Creator Declaration
When you press “Protect my creation”, you sign electronically (valid under Singapore's Electronic Transactions Act 2010) and confirm that:
- You created the artwork yourself. It is not copied, traced, or generated by AI.
- You wrote the parts of the bible marked as written by you.
- The character does not copy an existing character, brand or artwork.
- It does not depict a real person without written consent, and does not depict a minor.
- You understand AI-generated material may not be protected anywhere, and Neyra does not guarantee protection or registrability.
- You will not remove provenance data or AI marking from exports.
- You will not grant conflicting exclusive rights on other platforms.
- If this is untrue, your character may be removed, your account closed, and you may be liable to Neyra and third parties.
9. Prohibited content
- Existing characters, brands, logos, or copied or traced artwork belonging to others.
- Real people without their written consent. Minors in any form.
- Sexual content involving apparent minors, hate content, or content promoting violence.
- AI-generated images presented as an original hand-made sketch.
- Character names that clash with registered trademarks or well-known characters — we may require a change.
10. Enforcement — what we may do
If we receive a valid notice, detect a breach, or reasonably suspect one, Neyra may, at its discretion and without liability to you:
- Freeze a character, Passport or listing and hold proceeds while a case is open.
- Remove or disable content, delist characters, or revoke an IP Passport or tier.
- Disqualify competition entries and withhold or reclaim prizes.
- Suspend or terminate accounts and block repeat accounts tied to the same verified identity.
- Preserve records and share them with rights holders, courts or authorities where the law requires or permits.
- Report clearly unlawful content (including child sexual abuse material) to the relevant authorities immediately.
Repeat infringers
Strikes are tied to your verified identity. Reaching the strike threshold leads to permanent account closure. Strikes are not cleared by opening a new account.
11. Notice, counter-notice and disputes
- Notice: any rights holder may file through our claim form with their identity, the work infringed, the listing complained of, evidence of rights, a good-faith statement and a signature.
- Counter-notice: the creator may respond with the basis of their right and evidence from the Origin Record.
- Competing ownership claims: both parties are notified, the listing is suspended and proceeds held. Neyra does not decide ownership — parties resolve it, or a court or tribunal decides.
- Target timelines: acknowledgement within 1 business day, decision within 10 business days, restoration within 2 business days of a successful counter-notice.
- Knowingly false or abusive notices may be rejected and may create liability for the person filing them.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Neyra Labs Pte. Ltd. against claims, losses and costs arising from a false Creator Declaration, a breach of this Policy, or content that infringes third-party rights.
12. No guarantee and liability
Neyra provides evidence tools and records only. We do not warrant that any character is protected by copyright or registrable anywhere, and nothing on the platform is legal advice. We are not liable for lost profits, lost licensing revenue or failure to obtain registration. Our liability is limited as set out in the Terms, subject to rights you cannot waive under consumer law.
13. Privacy and permanent records
Personal data and files are kept in erasable storage under the Singapore PDPA 2012 and other applicable laws. Only hashes and timestamps go to our append-only evidence log. If you request deletion, your personal data is erased; hashes remain but cannot identify you on their own. See our Privacy Policy.
14. Governing law and disputes
- This Policy is governed by the laws of Singapore.
- Disputes are resolved by arbitration administered by the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), seated in Singapore, in English, before one arbitrator — except where your local consumer law gives you a right to go to court.
- Neyra Labs Pte. Ltd. may transfer this Policy to Neyra Studio on its incorporation, on notice, provided your rights are unchanged.
